These are community events, however, participants must pre-register individually, which means that we operate as a private club. While production of your goods does not have to take place in a commercial kitchen, we expect that you abide by health laws regarding food-borne pathogens and cross-contamination. By registering for any and all events organized by SGV East Food Swap, you agree to the following terms:
- By participating in our events, you are acknowledging that you abide by health and safety norms, and that food items being shared are not necessarily prepared in commercial kitchens or spaces inspected by any government agency;
- By participating in our events, you are also acknowledging that you will use the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in food preparation, and are aware of the risk associated with any items you will trade for;
- By participating in our events, you assume all liability, including agreeing to not hold liable food swap hosts, swap venue owners/providers, or other swap participants.
The organizers and hosts cannot and do not inspect kitchens or edible items, and will not assume any risk associated with the same. All attendees must complete a release form in order to attend swaps; the form as a Word doc can be downloaded here, or as a PDF here. This only needs to be submitted once and will be kept on file for future SGV East Food Swap events. Please complete and email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
